What is the purpose of a prepaid sub-meter and how will I, a landlord benefit from having a sub-meter installed?

A prepaid sub-meter is a meter that is installed after the UMEME/UTILITY primary or bulk Meter.

One of the biggest challenges facing property owners/Landlords today is the collection of money for electricity. Many cases exist where tenants have used up large electricity expenses and then abscond or runway leaving the property owner to settle the outstanding amount with UMEME.

With prepaid sub-metering, the property owner collects the money for the Electricity from the tenants upfront, because the user first buys a token before he can use electricity. If the Units get done, the meter automatically cuts of power until the tenant buys another token and loads onto the sub meter.
